This past week, I’ve spent my time tracking DU and some parts of it’s culture. In addition I spent some time around the city and in the mountains enjoying the fall air and foliage. I’ts funny how a project like this will get me to see new things after four years of being here.
Jerusalem Restaurant is a place where you can find students any time between 10am until 4am. I’ve always left with a full stomach while losing less than 10 dollars at a time.
- DU Spirit
For this tweet, we were instructed to find someone or something that we found was a symbol of the University of Denver spirit. I chose John Poe, the business editor at the DU Clarion and a third-year marketing major.
The DU Hockey team is one of the university’s most beloved jewels. A typcial DU hockey game draws huge crowds of students, alumni, and fans. Here’s a shot of the boys preparing for their first game which will take place Saturday, October 1st at 7pm. Be there!
Pictured below are second years Rachel Brenner and Kelby Gibson exploring an overlook in Boulder. They love the sense of community in Denver and in Colorado as a whole.
Who’s Got Spirit?
Jane Zunamon is the ideal Pioneer. She is involved in Greek Life, DU Hillel, and most recently the women’s club soccer team. When I ran into her coming home from class, I was not at all surprised that she was all decked out in DU swag. She wears our colors well!
School Spirit: The science department knows how to ring in the new school year with free food trucks for all students, and informational resources for science careers! In combination with their beautiful new building, the STEM departments have me thinking about changing majors.
DU You Have School Spirit?
One of my favorite aspects of the University of Denver is all the clubs that are offered and the inclusivity within these clubs. As seen by the tweet below, there are clubs that raise awareness for all the different groups on campus!
Winter Carnival is a staple at our school. It warms up DU and brings the community closer together in a blustery, cold season. My suitemate, Zack Nickel, sophomore, reps the sweater he got at last year’s event.
Denver Pride: School/Community Spirit Tweet
This one of my favorite lookouts I’ve been to so far on campus! You can see the DU Campus, downtown Denver and the mountains are to the left (sadly not pictured). I feel a lot of community and school spirit with beautiful views like this.
